Safe Plates at Farmers’ Markets is a training program designed by NC State Extension for farmers’ market managers and vendors. The course is designed to provide information to enhance the safety of food products sold at farmers’ markets across North Carolina. This short, in-person course covers basic food safety principles, personal health and hygiene, and safe sampling practices. Participants are encouraged to engage with the material through real-world examples, activities and discussion.
