A food safety training program for community organizations that hold meal events and food fundraisers led by volunteers.

Safe Plates currently offers two different community meals training programs - Safe Plates for Community Meal Events and Community Meals Food Safety Training.


Safe Plates for Community Meal Events


The Safe Plates for Community Meal Events training program is designed for volunteer food workers and organizations that hold meal events and/or food fundraisers, such as churches, neighborhood associations, and community centers. This training will cover the principles of food safety and teach participants how to maintain food safety in a variety of meal event scenarios. This curriculum teaches basic food safety principles, personal health and hygiene, and how to plan a successful and safe community meal event.

Community Meals & Disaster Food Safety Training

We have developed a food safety training program in partnership with the NC Division of Public Health, designed for individuals interested in hosting large meal events, such as fundraisers, church meals, or volunteer meals following a disaster. This training will provide resources and information to help you plan these events and ensure your success in providing a safe meal.
