Description: North Carolina Cooperative Extension – Union County Center will hold a Safe Plates for Food Managers course for the Summer Season!

This course helps to meet the requirement in North Carolina of having at least one certified food protection manager in a food establishment, per the 2017 FDA Food Code. This interactive course is filled with hands-on activities and case studies to help understand best safety practices when it comes to topics such as personal hygiene, preventing cross-contamination of foods, and handling allergens. Once the course is completed, participants will take an ANSI-approved exam for Food Protection Manager Certification, which is accepted throughout the United States for up to five years.
